Digitalis have elegant tall stalks with evergreen foliage and an array of flowering bell shaped blooms running down the stems, often with spots in their ‘throats’. They are impressive for the rich depth and whimsical beauty they lend to any garden space. They can grow up to 1 metre in height.

Known as Foxgloves due to the flowers appearing like the 'fingers' of a glove;  which derives from the term ‘folks’ glove. It was believed that the ‘fairy folk’ used to wear the flowers as gloves.

Plant position and soil: Prefers partial shade in well drained soil. Digitalis can be biennials or more commonly short-lived perennials. Biennels- Plant in Autumn for flowers the following Summer, June- August.
